Foaming Soap

In my house we go thru A LOT of hand soap with 6 people.  A while ago I found this great solution for refilling my foaming soap dispensers on Pinterest and decided to try it.  It worked perfectly and I’ve been doing it every since.

You simply get an empty foaming soap dispenser or buy one from the Dollar Tree for $1.00.  I got this baby wash for $1.00 at Aldi.  All you do is use a very small amount, about a tablespoon (I never measured) and then fill the rest with water.  One bottle of baby wash goes a long way.

I also use it to refill Itty Bitty’s bath pump.  We play with the suds, bathe with it and use it to wash his hair.

My New Love

Being a mom of four boys you can imagine how the carpet in my family room looks. I’m to cheap to replace it and am embarrassed to have someone come to clean it. My Honey that loves me so much asked me “why don’t you just buy a home carpet cleaner?” I thought those things were way to expensive and probably don’t work on the kind of dirt we have. I ventured out and did some research & price comparison and found this:

$85! Wholly smokes! I’ve paid that much to have the carpet cleaned once. OK so the price was reasonable, but would it work on my high traffic carpet?

After

Not bad I think. I used a mixture of hot water, Dawn dish detergent & ammonia. Next time I will pretreat the REALLY bad areas and use hotter water. But hey, I can clean it as many times as I’d like now. By the way, it was very light weight, took 2 minutes to assemble and was very easy to clean. I have a new love :=)

My New Toy

Sew for Christmas I gots myself a sewing machine. This truly is a first for me because while in the past I have hemmed, taken in and mended it had all been by hand. I’ve been looking for some easy projects on Pinterest and I am hoping to make something soon. I did however hem a pair of uniform pants. Sooooo EXCITING!

Easy Valentine’s Decor

So I’m already planning for Valentine’s Day. I’ve printed some cool things and pinned some even cooler things on my board that I can’t wait to try. But here is one thing I thought to do that was cute (or @ least I thought it was) I used a few vegetable can from the recycling bin = upcycling 🙂 some of my craft paper, a ruler, some tape and some shredded paper. (see picture above) I measured my paper, cut it to the size of my cans and viola! Stuck some shredded paper inside and my craft was complete.
